Where the Shop Came From

Iron + Grain was built from the ground up in 2022 by Karan Minhas, starting in a single-car garage with one welder, a chop saw, and a growing list of projects. What began with simple shelving brackets quickly expanded into custom planters, and then into fabricated panels for commercial builds. As word spread, so did the scope, evolving into a precision-driven metal fabrication and manufacturing shop serving contractors, engineers, and builders.

Karan Minhas began developing his fabrication, welding, and design skills in 2010, learning foundational principles of structure, materials, and problem-solving from both a physics instructor and a woodshop teacher. That early hands-on experience built the technical mindset that continues to guide Iron + Grain’s work today, focused on strength, fitment, and real-world performance.

Owned and operated by an active-duty U.S. military member, Iron + Grain is built on discipline, accountability, and execution under pressure. The demands of military life, including deployments, training cycles, and limited time, shaped a process centered on efficiency, clear communication, and strict adherence to timelines. Every project is held to the same standard: whether it’s a single bracket or a full production run, the expectation is consistent quality and reliable delivery.

This is a fabrication-first shop built on the belief that doing the job right the first time is what earns the next one.
